Chinese Chongqing CYIT Begins Mass Producing 3G Mobile Phone Chips
November 09, 2007
Chinese Chongqing CYIT (Chongyou Information Technology) announced on November 7 that the company has kicked off mass production of 3G mobile phone chips on a small scale. The information was made known close on the heels of a previous announcement that the company had successfully developed 3G TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) mobile phone chips based on 0.13um process technology, as reported in an Asia Express dated October 14, 2005.

Manufactured by Shanghai-based SMIC, the first batch of approximately 20,000 CYIT mobile phone chips have reportedly been adopted by several Chinese mobile phone makers in Chongqing, Suzhou, and Shanghai, Chongqing Daily reported.
